We were on fire: Prabhupad has come to change all this! From day one, our mission was fixed: demonstrate to India the glories of their own Krishna culture as taught to us by their realized native son, A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami. You got the sense that Vedic society was still there, just under the surface, and that it wouldn’t take much to convince these people, who after all were born to this ancient tradition. We could see that most Indians’ lives were still guided by spiritual practice, whether Moslem, Christian, Parsee, Jain, Sikh or Hindu; religious themes were everywhere: on calendars, store-fronts, little altars in every home and business. But where was Krishna? Where are the Vaishnavas?
